Here’s the truth: You spend a lot of time in your car. Driving to and from work every day, to and from soccer practice, school, the mall, the list goes on. And unfortunately there is always a chance of an emergency. So it’s better to be safe than sorry.
I asked the Lauren Wants to Know fans on Facebook what they kept in their car emergency kit. One person said they keep “Duct tape, screwdriver, bobby pins,” another said “flashlight, first aid kit, blanket,” and another fan recommended a “Smith and Wesson 38 special.” That last one was my favorite! And there were a few who didn’t carry anything with them.
I think it’s important to be prepared. Have the appropriate tools and necessities in your car. And always carry your cell phone!
Here’s some of what the experts say you should have in your car:
- Pocket knife and small tool box
- Jumper cables
- A spare tire and a jack for tire
- Flashlight with spare batteries
- Flares
- Rags
- Blankets
- Bottled water
- First aid kit
- Snacks
- An extra set of clothing
