What does your car say about you?

This weekend, I was down at the Middle of the Map music festival in Westport. As I past bar, coffee shop, bar, oriental rug store, bar … I definitely noticed a unique style among the local crowd! And the natural-born car girl that I am – I thought to myself “I wonder what car they drive?”

So my question is – do you believe your personality and style depict the type of car you drive? I would argue YES! I think car selection is based off two things; budget and lifestyle. And your lifestyle is a reflection of your personality. So the saying ‘you are what you eat’ may now be ‘you are what you drive’!

According to a study by UC Davis, what your car choice says about you, is a matter of fact. From small cars to luxury models to hybrids; your mode of transportation may be speaking for you! You can read more about the study here.

So I’m curious what my car says about me. Here’s the thing, though – I drive a different car off the McCarthy lot frequently so I can understand the makes/models better when it comes to helping someone find a vehicle. So here are a few of the cars I’ve driven…and the personality associated with them (according to the study, at least):

• Earlier, I was sporting the new Chevy Camaro, which showcases my adventure-seeking side.
• Last month the black Chevy Silverado said I was a rebel with an aggressive personality who tends to be a workaholic!
• And right now I’m driving a 2010 Hybrid Escalade, which apparently says I am a status-seeking suburbanite, likely to be an overachiever and came from a large family. Hmmm…interesting. 🙂

I guess I’ll have to keep this in mind next time I need to try out a different car. So, I want to know what your car says about you?
