What a day! The game may have left us unsatisfied, but the fans were mighty loud and proud! I rolled up to the stadium Sunday morning in my Tailgating Truck to a giant sea of Chief’s red. The air was already filled with smoke, footballs were tossed from left to right, and music was blaring from front-seat radios.
So what motivates me and thousands of other football fanatics to get up early on a Sunday and head out to Arrowhead? Plenty!
- Providing moral support for our local team;
- Enjoying the camaraderie of our fellow citizens;
- Drinking and being merry;
- Eating and being merry;
- Getting loud and being merry.
I gotta say, our Chiefs fans here in Kansas City are something to be seen! Props to all who came out and celebrated our home opener against the Buffalo Bills. And what did you guys think about the 9/11 tribute to the fallen men and women of 9/11 in New York City? What a powerful pre-game ceremony!
For those who were there, what were your thoughts on yesterday’s performance? Was it just me, or did that standing ovation for the Giants players bring on the goosebumps?
