I remember on our way back from Mrs. Warner’s piano lessons hearing, “Your lack of preparation does not constitute an emergency on my part!” Wise words from mom.
My mother has always had a knack for organization, for order, for perfection. She was always efficient with mailing birthday cards, putting up seasonal décor, hosting the baby shower, and planning the basketball team dinner. Holiday shopping wasn’t any different. I like to think I learned a couple things.
When fighting the crowds and hitting the deals, here’s my little list of car necessities:
- Don’t forget your Naughty or Nice list!
- Ladies, keep flats in the car. You can’t run in heels!
- Fingerless gloves! Hands stay warm in car, but still able to text and count change.
- Bottled water. Hydration is key!
- Use your GPS (if you’ve got it). No time to stray!
- Separate envelope for gift receipts.
- Energy bar. Snacky snacky!
- Seats down in back (room for bags).
- Go alone. This is no time for babysitting.
- And if you have kids, you better ask my mommy blogger, Sarah.
