We considered getting Big 12 Tournament tickets. And then remembered we have a seven-month-old baby.
He gets around his sporting events, attending his first K-State football game when he was just three weeks old. Many games later, he attended the Cotton Bowl and survived the Jerry Dome. He loves the game, the people watching and having someone hold him for four hours.
Realizing he’s obviously a budding sports fan, we took him to the Sprint Center at four months old to watch K-State basketball. Huge parenting failure. Poor little Henry was so revved up by the noise, lights and angry yelling that he spit up everywhere. On my shoes, on the Sprint Center floor, on the bleachers. By the time the game was over, I was ready to burn all of our clothes to get rid of the smell. Basketball arenas and little babies do not get along.
So for all you moms (and dads) who are smart enough to learn from our story, you can still participate in the Big 12 Tournament madness. Only a few hours remain to sign up at a McCarthy dealership to win a shiny Chevrolet Corvette! Winners will be chosen at random Friday at the Power and Light Living Room for a chance to hit a shot and win the Vette.
Our little family will be cheering on the Cats from the comfort of our living room — spit-up free.
LWTK’s mommy blogger, Sarah, is attempting to be a good mama to little Henry, wife to Shea, full-time employee and part-time grad student all while avoiding making dinner from a box every night. In her non-existent free time, she’s running, eating popcorn and blogging about it all at The Gatsby Diaries.
