Is it just me, or is the fall an AMAZING time to take in color in Kansas City?

When we lived in Minnesota, my favorite fall activity was to hop in the car and take a relaxing drive to watch the change of seasons. We often took weekend trips up north near Lake Superior to camp, hike and take in the breathtaking color. And while Kansas City’s own autumn beauty is starting to come to a close, there’s still some great color hanging on!

I often find myself driving more slowly on the way home from work as I admire the red and gold leaves arching over the traffic on Ward Parkway. And of course there’s my favorite stroll through Loose Park with its seemingly endless landscape in the midst of a busy Plaza neighborhood.

So tell me: if you could take today off life and meander through our area for a favorite fall drive, where would you go, and why?
