5 Steps For Removing Smoke Smell From Your Car

Cars are fantastic at a lot of things; getting us from point A to point B, hauling all of our friends and luggage, and unfortunately, catching smells. Follow these five steps to help remove smoke odor from your car.

1) Make sure the source of the smell is removed. That means ashtrays or cigarette butts. If there is ash on the carpets, make sure it’s vacuumed up.

2) Vacuum the entire interior. Don’t skimp on the vacuuming; every surface is going to need some TLC.

3) Open all of the doors, remove anything that can be removed, and put your car’s heat and air into recirculate. Moving fresh air through the vehicle is going to be one of the key steps to eliminating the stink.

4) Wash the seats, mats, doors, and seat belts. Take some odor-eliminating upholstery cleaner and get busy. Follow the instructions and let it sit for the allotted amount of time. Then vacuum it again and continue to let the car air out.

5) Air fresheners. Everyone prefers something different, so pull out your Febreze, or dryer sheets or whatever scent you prefer and leave it to work its magic overnight.
