There are a lot of women throughout history that have helped shape the auto industry into what it is today. However, we should not forget about the women who work hard and set an incredible example in this tough business today. One of these women is a top twenty executive for GM named Alicia Boler Davis.
Davis claims that her drive for success comes from her sister, who was always encouraging her to continue learning and striving for the best. Equipped with an engineering degree, Davis quickly climbed through the ranks of GM’s corporate infrastructure and fought for her place among the men. She is now the connected-car customer experience chief and continues to strive to make our vehicles more connected and better suited for our technology-driven lives.
On top of being a successful business woman, Davis is also a mother and a role model. She is devoted to encouraging young, middle school-age girls to keep their drive for knowledge and their excitement for hobbies and careers that are traditionally carried by men. She talks at elementary and middle schools across the country to reach out to these young girls.
This mother, business woman, and top executive is a great role model for girls and women across the country who enjoy the car industry and strive for excellence!
