2016 Jadon’s Hope Bug Run

McCarthy Auto Group is proud to support the 2016 Jadon’s Hope Bug Run! Now in its fourth year, the run has become an even bigger fixture in Kansas City.

Jadon Burks, nicknamed “The BUG,” was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) when he was only two months old. This terminal disease affects the part of the nervous system that controls voluntary muscle movement, resulting in the loss of nerve cells called motor neurons.

Jadon, now six years old, is affected by the most severe form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Doctors predicted “nine months to a year” for Jadon, but he continues to defy the medical odds every day, celebrating significant milestones that many SMA babies never get to see. He is such a fighter!

The Jadon’s Hope Bug Run benefits the Jadon’s Hope Foundation and their mission to find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Jadon’s Hope Foundation strives to promote educational awareness and fund research efforts for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, the #1 genetic killer of infants under the age of two, while also providing support for families affected by terminal childhood diseases.

Register for the Bug Run today, and join Jadon’s Hope on their quest to find a cure for SMA.
