Did you know that injuries are the leading cause of death for Americans aged 1-44? June is National Safety Month. This month aims to spread awareness of these statistics and steps you can take to stay safe! Injury is such a broad noun, though. Whether injuries are caused on the road, in the workplace, or at home, you can prevent potential accidents from happening by educating yourself!
20-50 million people are injured or disabled each year due to car accidents. Help diminish this statistic by keeping your eyes on the road! Your safety in your vehicle starts with you. Imagine how much safer our roads would be if everyone had this mindset. Make sure your vehicle is up-to-date on maintenance, so you avoid any surprise mishaps while on the road.
Not all injuries are due to car accidents, though. Accidents happen every day for a countless amount of reasons! Contribute to National Safety Month by brushing up on your first aid knowledge. Knowing how to react in case of an emergency is crucial, and having the knowledge and supplies to provide first aid when needed is extremely beneficial. You never know when you or someone you love will get into an accident of some kind, so make sure you’re prepared for the possibility! I always keep a small first aid kit in my car, just in case. That is one simple way you can take steps to leading a safer life!
I challenge you to think of another way to stay safe this month (and every month). Let me know what safety steps you come up with in the comments below!
