A favorite American pastime is driving. Just getting behind the wheel and cruising. Some of the most gorgeous places have an option to drive past and enjoy the scenery. Here are five of the most beautiful drives in the US:
1.Springfield to Branson in Missouri. Of course the first for me is my home state of Missouri. The 56-mile drive south to Branson is absolutely gorgeous. There’s a great view of the city of Springfield.
2. The Pacific Coast Highway. A must-see in your lifetime drive. The 123-mile stretch of Highway 1 travels straight up the coast of California. Beautiful sights like the Big Sur, Bixby Bridge, and the gorgeous and giant redwoods.
3. Going-to-the-sun Road in Montana. 52-miles of glacial lakes, forest, valleys and peak. This drive takes you through Montana’s Glacier National Park. Make sure you go during the summer because it is often closed during the winter months due to snow.
4. Skyline Drive, Virginia. This drive stretches for 105 miles and has plenty of scenic outlooks for pictures and taking in the view. The best and most beautiful wildlife Virginia has to offer only takes approximately three hours.
5. San Juan Skyway in Colorado. If you want to see mountains, the San Juan Skyway is the drive for you. This road boasts majestic views of forest and untouched land way up in the clouds!
